Horizontal Loop Discussion

This page documents some of the work related to my horizontal loop antenna (referred to as HLOOP herein). I chose to create this page to share information on what has been called in the literature as a "Loop Skywire."

The Loop

More detail will be added as time permits.

First Resonance

A closed loop antenna, at DC (0 Hz) **MUST** exhibit some resistance. In engineering terms, it will have an impedance of R + j 0 ohms. Clearly, as the frequency increases, the impedance must, also increase. Therefore, it MUST be inductive to start and the impedance MUST increase with frequency.

My HLOOP

My HLOOP is, about, 228.6 feet, according to EZNEC predictions of the loop resonant frequency. Frankly, I cannot remember the exact dimensions and have no burning desire to get out the tape measure.
